stepping up their game

So i was very surprised/excited when I walked into Barone the other night.

WHY? you may ask

well for those of you not too familiar with Barone cuisine, they love telling us they have plenty of fresh fruit and serve us small, non-fresh apples bananas and oranges. They are never appealing and it usually upsets many stag card holders

But this Thursday night was unlike the rest. Not only was there a station for some smoothie making, but they were using DOLE bananas and GALA apples.

Yeah, it's sick how we fall into the tricks and well..tricks of branding, but seriously, I was so happy to have a fresh juicy bite into my favorite type of apple.

Nonetheless I took 4 more into my backpack for the remainder of the weekend. It saved me a trip to stop n shop! thanks barone!

ze problem is ze egg

After being ridiculed by friend Gary over the fact that I felt it necessary to blog about Barone breakfast sandwiches, he raised a unique point.

"I hate Barone
And how is using a sausage cleaner than bacon?
The egg is what [messes] everything up."

Gar, you are absolutely correct. The egg bin at the Barone breakfast station consists of a rectangular shaped pan where the eggs are baked. While scooping the eggs out, uneven egg proportions are unavoidable.

I therefore propose a solution to Barone's eggs. Make them yourself at the stir fry station. Hey even be healthy and cook up some egg whites.

A Breakfast Favorite

One of the only meals my stomach can really handle at Barone is served during the breakfast hours.

Not every day I get this lucky because the main ingredient isn't always available.

--Sausage Patties--

These greasy pattys are a perfect fit for, yes, an english muffin!

Throw that muffin into the toaster and grab some scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, and a slice of American Cheese (usually next to the grapefruit)

You may have to toast the muffin twice, but once it's toasty throw the slice of cheese right onto the bottom half of the muffin, then proceed to stack the sausage patty and top it off with some scrambled eggs

WHala! a perfect breakfast sandwhich!

WARNING: when the sausage patties are not being served and you resort to using the "bacon" they serve there, be aware that your finished meal may turn out very sloppy and unsatisfactory.

Wait for the patties and just stick to cereal until then

Good Ole Barone

So since no one wants to talk about our cafeteria here at Fairfield University, feel free to comment on this question..

How would you improve any meal at Barone?
Different pizza crusts....or
Better "grilled" chicken,,,or
Bring back more sticky rice...or..........?
